Raw DIY Seamoss: How to Make Sea Moss Gel at home!

Follow these simple steps to turn raw sea moss into a nutrient-rich gel at home.

Step 1: Rinse

For this tutorial, we will use 14g of seamoss which is the equivalent to a 375ml jar of seamoss gel.

-       Measure out 14g of dried sea moss.
Rinse thoroughly twice using fresh, clean water to remove any sand, salt, or ocean residue.

Step 2: Soak

-       Place the rinsed sea moss in a clean bowl.

-       Refill with spring or filtered water (avoid tap water).

-       Squeeze in the juice of 1 fresh lime to help reduce the oceanic smell.

-       Let the sea moss soak at room temperature for 12 to 24 hours in a dark cool place.

-       After soaking, the sea moss should expand to about 3 times its original size.

 Step 3: Blend

-       Transfer the soaked sea moss to a blender.

-       Add 1.5 to 2 cups of fresh spring or Alkaline water. Ensure it’s just enough to cover the moss.

-       Blend on high for 2 to 3 minutes until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

-       Optional: Add more water for a thinner consistency.

 Step 4: Store

-       Pour the sea moss gel into a clean, airtight 375ml jar.
Store in the top shelf of your refrigerator and use within 4 weeks.

-       If you want to extend the shelf life, you can pour your gel into freezer cubes. Frozen seamoss will last for up to 4 months.

Please Note:

-       Adding fresh fruit may reduce the shelf life to about 2 weeks.
Always store in the fridge and use a clean spoon each time

-       We recommend 2 table spoons a day. Always use a clean spoon after each spoon full.
